Inter Milan are increasingly confident that they can get a deal done to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that tomorrow could be a breakthrough day in the negotiations between the Nerazzurri and the Bavarians.

Inter have made Pavard their top target in defense.

Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta made no effort to hide the fact. And coach Simone Inzaghi has also admitted that he wants the Frenchman in his squad by the end of the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri have yet to find an agreement with Bayern on a deal to sign the Frenchman.

However, Di Marzio reports, they are confident that they can do so soon.

Inter Milan Growing In Confidence They Can Sign Benjamin Pavard

Inter have spent the past few days pushing to try and convince Bayern to sell Pavard.

Reports suggested that the Nerazzurri have already had a couple of offers turned down for the 27-year-old.

Inter have reportedly gone as high as around €30 million in their bid for Pavard. That is with the inclusion of all add-ons.

However, the German champions still want more.

Moreover, reports have suggested that Bayern are reluctant to sell Pavard before they secure a replacement.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel is not keen to go into the season with the squad light in players who can fill in on the right side of defense.

Inter CEO Marotta also indicated that Bayern will be reluctant to sell Pavard without a replacement in mind.

However, on the flip side, the player is keen to make the move. Pavard has reportedly told Bayern that he wants to leave, and that Inter are the only club that he wants to join.

Pavard’s contract runs out at the end of next June. The former Stuttgart has reportedly agreed to join Inter on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires if he does not do so this summer.
