Bayern Munich are reportedly in talks with Chelsea as they try to sign Trevoh Chalobah who would subsequently unlock the transfer of Benjamin Pavard to Inter Milan.

This summer, the Nerazzurri have been searching the market for a new defender who can replace Milan Skriniar.

Despite poaching young German centre-back Yann Bisseck, the club is still seeking a more proven profile.

Over the last week or so, Pavard emerged as the primary candidate for the role. The Beneamata made swift progress in the negotiations and reached agreements with both the player and Bayern.

Nevertheless, Thomas Tuchel is still blocking the operation, citing the club’s need for a suitable replacement.

But according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Bayern may have found their man in the shape of Trevoh Chalobah.

The source claims that the Bundesliga champions are concretely working on signing the 24-year-old defender.

As we reported earlier today, Tuchel remains fond of the Englishman whom he coached during his time at Chelsea.

Boost For Inter Milan In Their Pavard Pursuit As Bayern Munich Are Making Progress In Their Attempts To Sign Trevoh Chalobah

The source adds that Bayern have already made progress on this front. This is music to the ears of Inter, as Chalobah’s arrival at Bayern would free Pavard.

As the report explains, the Nerazzurri will pay 30 million euros for the services of the 2018 World Cup winner in addition to 2M as bonuses.

Interestingly, Chalohab has also been on Inter’s shortlist throughout the summer. But eventually, the Italian giants pinpointed Pavard as the ideal profile for the role.
