Midfielder Stefano Sensi will stay at Inter Milan one way or another, even if the Nerazzurri make another signing in the centre of the pitch.

This according to Italian news outlet FCinter1908, who report that Inter will keep the 28-year-old in the squad regardless of any other business that they do to bolster in central areas before the transfer deadline.

At the moment, Sensi is an Inter player.

This is not necessarily what had been expected for the former Sassuolo midfielder during the transfer window.

Sensi returned from a loan spell with Monza after the Brianzoli declined to exercise a purchase option on him.

However, it has nevertheless seemed as though Sensi would be on his way soon enough.

The Nerazzurri have looked to offload the 28-year-old, whose contract runs out at the end of next June.

However, despite some interest in the midfielder, no clubs landed his signature.

In the meantime, Inter’s pursuit of Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic unexpectedly collapsed.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri have increasingly settled on the idea of keeping Sensi in the squad to reinforce the midfield depth.

The fact that the Italian international enjoyed a very positive preseason has certainly nudged Inter in that direction.

Even with Sensi’s checkered injury history, the Nerazzurri are ready to rely on the 28-year-old this season.

Inter Milan Will Keep Hold Of Stefano Sensi – Even If Another Midfielder Arrives

In the meantime, Inter have also been toying with the idea of signing another midfielder.

The likes of Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez and Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele appear to be the main targets.

However, FCIN1908 report, even if either of these were to arrive, Inter would still want to keep hold of Sensi.

There would then be seven midfielders in the depth chart.

This is not necessarily something that the Nerazzurri see as excessive.

With the team still aiming to compete on multiple fronts over the course of the next ten months, they do not want to get rid of Sensi, one way or the other.
