Prominent football agent Rafaela Pimenta says she wasn’t surprised by the doomed transfer of Lazar Samardzic to Inter Milan.

Earlier this month, the young midfielder was supposedly one step away from finalizing his transfer from Udinese to the Nerazzurri.

The 21-year-old arrived in Milano and underwent his medical tests as normal. However, the most substantial step remained missing, that is penning a contract.

As we explained in an exclusive SempreInter article, Inter were aware of potential unresolved issues between Lazar’s father Mladen Samardzic and his agent Pimenta.

So while the Nerazzurri had agreed terms with the Brazilian lawyer, the player’s father arrived at the club’s headquarters to try and negotiate new terms. Inter were not interested, so after a few days of fruitless talks, the transfer unceremoniously collapsed.

Mladen Samardzic insists that Pimenta never had the authorization to represent his son. The agent categorically denied these claims.

In an earlier interview, she claimed to possess an agreement with Malden Samardzic, ensuring the latter 50% of commissions. She insists that he had already given his consent regarding all terms of the agreement with Inter.

On Thursday, Pimenta had to discuss the transfer saga once again while attending the Champions League group stage draw.

The Brazilian reveals that she wasn’t all that surprised by how the situation unfolded. This could well be a dig at Mladen Samardzic and his antics.

“The Samardzic affair? I expected it to end like this,” shrugged the prominent agent in her interview with Sportitalia.

The young midfielder has since resumed his Udinese stint, even scoring a goal for the Zerbrette in their 1-1 draw against Salernitana last Monday.
