Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolo Barella in midfield with Federico Dimarco on the left in today’s Serie A clash against Sassuolo at the San Siro, with kickoff scheduled for 20.45 CET.

This evening Inzaghi has made a total of two changes compared to the team that started against Empoli on Sunday.

Firstly, in defense Matteo Darmian takes the place of summer signing Benjamin Pavard to the right of the back three.

Pavard had started in both of the Nerazzurri’s last two matches. But the 27-year-old former Bayern Munich is out of the lineup against Sassuolo.

Secondly, Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco play on the wings. This is a change to the Empoli game where Matteo Darmian started as a wingback to the right.

Thirdly, in defende Alessandro Bastoni joins Darmian starting on either side of Italian international and former Lazio and Sassuolo defender Francesco Acerbi.

Dutchman Stefan de Vrij has to settle for a place on the bench.

Meanwhile, Inter’s deadline day signing Davy Klaassen is on the bench. The former Ajax and Everton midfielder is yet to make an appearance for the Nerazzurri.

Lautaro Martinez & Marcus Thuram Lead The Line Yet Again

Fourthly, in midfield, Turkish international Hakan Calhanoglu starts in the middle of the park. He’s flanked on Inter Milan’s midfield against Sassuolo, by Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

This means that Frattesi drops to the bench, against his former team Sassuolo. The 24-year-old had made his first ever start for Inter against Empoli.

Subsequently, up front, Argentina international forward Lautaro Martinez starts. Playing alongside the Argentine is French international Marcus Thuram.

However, this is the same attacking duo as in each of Inter’s first five Serie A matches of the campaign.

Yann Bisseck is on the bench once again. And Marko Arnautovic is not in the lineup due to a long-term thigh injury. Juan Cuadrado also misses this evening’s match through injury.

Moreover, one interesting name in the squad is young forward Amadou Sarr. The 19-year-old has gotten a call-up due to Arnautovic’s injury.
