Inter Milan are aiming to extend the contracts of Federico Dimarco, Denzel Dumfries, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan before that of Lautaro Martinez.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

As things stand, Martinez’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2026.

The former Racing Club striker signed his current deal during the fall of 2021.

However, Inter are already ready to start thinking well into the future. Martinez is a player who the club see as part of the foundation of the team for many seasons to come.

The Argentine’s performances over the past couple of seasons have only grown in quality. Therefore, the Nerazzurri are prepared to tie down his future with a new long-term deal.

Moreover, it is not as though there is not interest in taking Martinez away from Inter.

Premier League teams Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all targeted the Nerazzurri striker in the recent past.

Inter Preparing Contract Talks With Lautaro – After Mkhitaryan, Dimarco & Dumfries

Inter want to extend their captain’s deal until the end of June 2026.

Accompanying this extension would certainly be a significant pay raise.

And the fact that there is a great relationship between the club and player, who is certainly happy where he is, means that Inter are optimistic.

The Nerazzurri see extending Martinez’s deal as a key priority for the coming months.

But there are a few situations that they will look to attend to, the Gazzetta reports.

First of all, midfielder Mkhitaryan sees his current contract run out at the end of June. The Armenian remains an integral player in Simone Inzaghi’s team, so Inter will look to put pen to paper on a new deal for him.

And then there are wingbacks Dimarco and Dumfries.

Both of the pair are currently on contracts that run out at the end of June 2026.

Dimarco’s and Dumfries’s situations are not exactly pressing. But they are moreso than that of Martinez.

Therefore, the Gazzetta anticipates, Inter will begin contract extension talks with the two wingbacks before they do the Argentine.
