Lautaro Martinez wants to stay at Inter Milan “for life.”

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Argentine’s declarations are quite sincere.

Yesterday Martinez made clear that he is not interested in joining Real Madrid.

There have been one or two transfer links between the Inter captain and Los Blancos in recent months.

And Real Madrid are not the only team to show an interest in Martinez’s signature.

Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all targeted the Nerazzurri striker in the recent past.

Barcelona and Manchester City have also chased Martinez during his time at Inter.

But Martinez has always seemingly rejected the interest from these teams.

The Argentine’s priority appears to be staying at Inter. That’s what he has always indicated with what he has said.

And according to the Gazzetta, Martinez is being honest when he says that he wants to stay at Inter, and hopes to do so “for life.”

Lautaro Martinez Wants Inter “For Life”

Striker Martinez has made himself a key player for Inter over his five seasons and counting with the club.

The Argentine arrived from Racing Club during the summer 2018.

Whilst Martinez arrived as a young player still needing to grow, the sense is that he is now fully mature.

This is reflected in the fact that Martinez now wears the captain’s armband for the Nerazzurri.

The Argentine has been Inter’s top scorer in each of the past two seasons. And he is now well on pace to make it three in a row.

And the Inter captain is also currently in a strong position to finish the season as Serie A’s overall top scorer.

Now, Inter will perhaps have some anxiety to lock down Martinez’s future.

The 26-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2026.

But the Nerazzurri will want to put pen to paper on a contract extension.

And according to the Gazzetta, from the player’s perspective, there is every intention of extending. He wants to stay for quite some time.
