Inter Milan aren’t planning on adding a new striker to the fold in January, but the future of Alexis Sanchez could alter their plans.

The Nerazzurri have announced the capture of Tajon Buchanan. The Canadian winger is currently in Milano to finalize his transfer from Club Brugge.

But according to Il Corriere dell Sport via FcInterNews, the 24-year-old could well be the club’s solitary signing in January.

The Italian giants will conduct other operations in the winter session, but they will hardly impact the squad.

The source expects the Serie A leaders to trim their midfield department by offloading Stefano Sensi and Lucien Agoume. Simone Inzaghi already has six other midfielders at his disposal.

The Italian international is being linked with a return to Sassuolo. On the other hand, Sevilla are closing in on a deal for the France U21 starlet.

Inter Milan Will Only Sign New Striker In January If Alexis Sanchez Leaves

As for the attacking department, Inter will only seek a new striker if Alexis Sanchez ends up leaving the club.

The Chilean made his return to the club for a second spell in the summer. However, injuries have limited his contribution.

But while the 35-year-old has some offers on the table, the source believes he intends to stay at Appiano Gentile and make himself a protagonist.

Inter would be in favor of this solution, as they could find it hard to replace the former Barcelona and Arsenal star without a proper transfer kit.

Sanchez has made 13 appearances for the Nerazzurri across all competitions this season, mostly coming off the bench. He has yet to score in Serie A, but netted twice in the Champions League.
