Inter Milan finished their FIFA Club World Cup journey last night as Fluminense beat them 2-0 in Charlotte.
Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the team will jet off to Europe tonight at 20.30.
Cristian Chivu fell short of winning silverware in his first tournament at the helm of Inter Milan.
Indeed, Fluminense stunned the Nerazzurri at the Bank of America Stadium.
After a season full of disappointments, it’s time for Inter stars to take a break and reset.
When Inter Milan Will Kick Off 2025/26 Training After FIFA Club World Cup Heartbreak

Fluminense’s victory deepened Inter’s crisis.
Indeed, frustration boiled over after the final whistle as Lautaro Martinez aimed a dig at his unsettled teammates.
El Toro urged Hakan Calhanoglu to leave the club amid intense speculation linking him with Galatasaray.
Unlike the rest of the squad, Calhanoglu returned home before the first knockout round.
Meanwhile, Chivu’s men will soon return to Europe before taking a three-week holiday.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri will return to training on July 23.
After 63 games without real holiday, both to relax physically and mentally, no wonder we played like this. The whole squad needs to go on a well deserved rest, to not even think about football. After that, we turn another page of the new era where we get rid of deadwood, implement new players into the system, implement a new style of play, with a new coach. Still i think we can be satisfied with this season, we didnt won any silverware, but at least we brought a shit ton of money in the club, where we already invested 70 million into new players, without even selling any. I think Marotta, Oaktree and Chivu will know exactly what to do to bring success for next season. Forza Inter per sempre, and fuck all the haters, we love the colours of the club while you love only the result.
Tiredness has been used alot this season and yes Inter have played more games than anyone else in Serie A. It will have an effect at some point but ,as others have stated, since Christmas there’s been a drop off. Thuram especially has looked disinterested to the point that Arnautovic has sometimes shown more fire and hope of a goal. The comments the other night only highlight that there’s something wrong behind the scenes. It needs sorted before the new season or we’re in for a long seasom
Just why. The Fifa matches were the best pre season matches both Chivu and the players could wish to have because now Chivu got a great picture of what’s lies ahead and same with Inter. The first issue is the problem of slow starts maybe its tiredness but the goals conceded in those early minutes suggests Inter are in deep trouble defensively. Yes midfield and attack is more “cool” to focus on but the defence is completely in shambles. Just trash level defending so getting fresh new defenders is a must. Pavard just can’t be trusted he’s simply injured same with Bisseck who is just unreliable while defending and Acerbi is good but only in certain type of teams that have a focus player and Dimarco is just not a defender at this point which makes Bastoni the only balanced defender. How can Inter not sorting out the defence is beyond any logical sense at this point
While I agree that we need a young, aggressive center back, I don’t think the goals we’re giving are necessarily about our defense.
What I am seeing is when we have the ball (which, against most teams, is the majority of the game) we are slow and methodical and just passing the ball sideways. It is putting zero pressure on the other team. Because of that, they are defending deep with ease and have a ton of energy to counter.
Fluminense, at times, left 3 guys near midfield to counter-attack because our offensive possession was so toothless that they could defend with 7, no problem.
