Cristian Chivu couldn’t have imagined a more challenging start to his touchline career at Inter Milan.
Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 44-year-old had to hold an emergency meeting with the squad to clear the air.
Lautaro Martinez lost it after Fluminense condemned the Nerazzurri to an untimely FIFA Club World Cup exit.
Indeed, El Toro slammed several unsettled Inter stars for undermining the atmosphere in the dressing room.
Furthermore, he urged those players to leave San Siro, prompting unwanted reactions from other teammates.
Cristian Chivu Calls Emergency Meeting to Address Inter Milan Dressing-Room Unrest

Though Lautaro aimed at Hakan Calhanoglu, his words didn’t sit well with Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries.
Stranded in the center of this chaos, Chivu held an emergency meeting to prevent further divisions.
Per the report, it was an ‘open confrontation.’ Indeed, the new boss is eager to get to the bottom of this complex issue.
Meanwhile, Inter could lose Calhanoglu long before the dust settles.
The Turk is increasingly likely to leave in the coming weeks.
I won’t blame Lautaro for saying that.
Remember that Lautaro said more or less the same thing during Lukaku’s saga.
Lautaro is the one who defends this colour. He felt Lukaku backstabbed him. And now he is going through a similar situation.
I love Inzaghi, but how come you left your team (and also your captain) after that UCL disaster? Normally, after that huge loss, big wound or hurt, you need someone to stand, to care, to motivate you back, which should be the main coach’s task.
Now, without Inzaghi, it is the captain’s job to handle all those scars and pressure. It must be frustrating for him. So, I could see that he was in anger do to these reasons.
This is what a true Captain is for. This is a new cycle now. It was a long, ultimately disappointing season and there will be guys who can turn up and start again and there will be guys who give up in hard times and want to run. Those who want to run, go ahead.
It’s not going to be easy and we will need men who love Inter and will fight for it.
oiii this team is dead tired and now we suffer mentally due to no trophies and CL final defeat after sacrificing everything for that! all our player have been declined since january. I wasn’t surprised we lost scudetto and coppa, but was more impressed we reached CL final and did brilliant against yamal fc. we weren’t supposed to be there
in this case lauti is right, but as captain he should watch his mouth especially with senior players cause it can disrupt the whole team. he’s not roy keane.
just get rid of lautaro = problem solved. Lauti is by far not the easiest person to communicate, also, he is not so prolific in attack, he declined very much recently.
I dont know if you been watching the tournament or not but hes been the best player in the tournament and was the only one that was showing some light last game. Lautaro was the best of himself last season but still racked up 24 goals in all competition let alone lead the team to the finals as a captain which is easy feat. I feel like you are a fake fan if you actually saying we should sell Lautaro man.
It’s ridiculous isn’t it….
We will sit here and call out players for being crap or lacking effort, yet our captain does it and suddenly he’s toxic, rubbish and should be sold?! Madness!
Real fans know he’s carried this team for 5 years, he runs himself into the ground for this badge.
And he can see people not pulling their weight he calls it out, good !
Marotta screwed up by naming hakan, that’s not Lautaro’s fault…
Now if only Lautaro could come out and say “players we are buying are not up to the standards we need”
Lautaro is just having ptsd with how Lukaku and Inzaghi betrayed the team. As a captain he just wants teamates who will be onboard with him and Chivu for a new journey which he knows is not going to be easy. If they felt hurt by what Lautaro said, its probably because they know they are guilty.
We are fans and cant contact the player directly while Lautaro are actually could talk to the other player face to face and could demand them directly. If inter management consistent they have to took the captain armband off lautaro cause they done that with icardi because his wife/agent called out inter teammates publicly
You sound crazy, he’s defending the badge and fans and your calling him the problem? Any player not happy with bis words are the ones guilty. He didn’t even mention any names so hakan thuram and denzel are all showing their guilty conscience
I never said he was the problem. I said players that got offended by what he said are the guilty ones.
Captain was pretty much the only out of players from last season who played well at all during this tournament. Barella, Bastoni and maybe Dumfries were behind him, but they all had low times in game. The rest were abysmal, considering last season (i know they are tired, low motivation and all, but still, to let those 2nd grade clubs outplay you like that, ain’t good)
he is likely to end up second on the most goals scored in Inter Milan history….
yes he has dry spells and can miss some easier chances but all around the world others are doing the same, except those players walk on defence, quite often have egos bigger than their clubs and give no effort to anything happening around them.
At least Martinez is very rarely injured and gives his all game in and game out for years to our colours.
I think Inter should make some big changes and get the players Chivu wants for his foodball. Thuram will get us around 80mil and denzel will get us around 30mil. If Hakan goes for 30mil we will have 140mil budget for new players.
