Inter Milan appear ready to part ways with Stefan de Vrij when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Dutch defender is among several senior players whose deals run out this summer, including Francesco Acerbi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Yann Sommer and Matteo Darmian.
However, de Vrij’s future now looks the most clearly defined, via FCInterNews.
During the winter transfer window, the former Lazio centre-back came close to leaving Milan to reunite with Simone Inzaghi at Al-Hilal.
The move did not materialise, but it signalled that his time at San Siro may be approaching its conclusion.
No New Deal On Horizon For De Vrij At Inter Milan

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, the chances of a renewal are now extremely slim. Inter are therefore expected to allow the 32-year-old to depart on a free transfer when the season ends.
De Vrij joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2018 and has played a key role during one of the club’s most successful recent cycles.
His positional intelligence, composure and experience helped anchor the defence through domestic and European campaigns.
If this proves to be his final season in black and blue, he will leave as a respected figure who contributed significantly to Inter’s modern resurgence.

I think most Inter fans prefer if he stays
yep, because he is so far one of the most stable players when coming from injuries or when his playing time is less than others
hope he stays
Playing in the middle of a back 3 requires intelligence over athleticism. He is good for that, especially as a rotational player. Solid professional and probably a good locker room presence
He was a very good player for us. Very reliable.
He had some horrible seasons but has arguably been our most dependable CB this year when he has played.
Acerbi just had 1 season too many, Mikhi like 3 lol.
But de vrij I believe still has ability to play in a back 3 and be reliable, unlike everybody else we have, they’re all extremely streaky and prone to silly errors
So if he goes I hope it’s to make way for a genuine starting quality new arrival
So, I hope he stays. He’s still good.
