Inter Milan are in talks with Club Brugge over Canada national team player and wingback Tajon Buchanan.

This according to football media outlet The Athletic, who report that sources briefed on the talks have revealed negotiations are ongoing over a deal worth north of €15 million.

The report is yet another in a series of reports dating back to January linking the Nerazzurri with a move for the Club Brugge player, who was one of Canada’s standout players at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The latest of these reports came from Belgium in the last week, claiming there was a verbal agreement between Inter Milan, Club Brugge and Tajon Buchanan for a move this summer.

However, some cold water was poured on this report by Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio following the Belgian media report.

Di Marzio suggested then that whilst the Canadian star would be keen on making the move, there have not been any serious talks between Inter Milan and Club Brugge.

Links To Several Premier League & Serie A Clubs

The Canadian wide player has also been linked with the likes of Inter’s Serie A rivals AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli, whilst Premier League side Leeds United have been reported to have made an approach.

However, HLN claimed at the time that Inter should win the race to sign Buchanan adding that the player is very keen to make the move, as he feels that the Nerazzurri would be an ideal next destination.

Shortly after, Rome based Corriere dello Sport countered this, claiming two factors need to be first met before Inter can think about completing a signing of Tajon Buchanan.

Firstly, there is the fact that Denzel Dumfries would have to be sold before the Nerazzurri could move for Buchanan to replace him.

Dumfries’ Inter Milan future is looking more and more in doubt, with Newcastle reportedly joining the race to sign the former PSV Eindhoven player.

Secondly, and more importantly, Inter do not yet know whether or not they will be able to rely on income from the Champions League next season, a key factor in their financial plans for the upcoming summer.
