Inter Milan will extend the contract of defender Alessandro Bastoni until the end of June 2028.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, who report that everything is agreed on a new deal for the 23-year-old, and that the official announcement of a new deal is expected soon, which will see him earn €5 million net per season plus add-ons.

Inter have been pushing to agree a new contract with key defender Bastoni.

Even though the player’s current deal runs out at the end of next June, agreeing a new contract as soon as possible has been a priority. The Nerazzurri’s intention has been to avoid having Bastoni go into the final season of his deal at all costs.

Inter have learned the hard way what can happen in these situations thanks to Milan Skriniar’s decision to leave on a free transfer.

As such, the club have been accelerating talks with Bastoni across the past few weeks.

There have even been reports that Bastoni could be sold in the summer were a new deal not agreed. If the Nerazzurri could not secure the ex-Atalanta defender’s future, they would have been prepared to cash in.

Manchester City are reportedly keen on the 23-year-old. So are Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, who have been keeping a close watch on Bastoni’s contract talks with Inter.

Inter Milan To Wrap Up Alessandro Bastoni Contract Extension Imminently

Bastoni isn’t going anywhere, though, according to Mediaset.

The broadcaster report that the Nerazzurri are on the verge of making Bastoni’s new contract official. The club could make the announcement very soon, Mediaset suggests.

Bastoni will sign an extension until the end of June 2028. His wages will be increased to €5 million net per season plus add-ons.

Meanwhile, Mediaset report that the next contract situations on deck at Inter are those of Stefan de Vrij, Edin Dzeko, and Hakan Calhanoglu.
