Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is proud to be at the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the coach reacted to the team reaching the Champions League final against AC Milan, calling their path through the competition an “extraordinary journey.”

It has certainly not all been smooth sailing for the ex-Biancocelesti coach.

However, the work that Inzaghi and his players have done for two years has been rewarded. The Nerazzurri will face either Real Madrid for a chance to be crowned European champions next month in Istanbul.

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Fends Off Speculation About His Future

Inzaghi’s future has been in doubt at times this season. Runs of poor form have led to speculation that he could well be sacked.

This has led to reports that the 47-year-old former Lazio boss could be sacked. The likes of Bologna’s Thiago Motta and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi have been rumoured as potential replacements.

Should Inzaghi be on his way, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in his signature.

However, all of that kind of speculation has certainly been put on the backburner. The Nerazzurri have reached the final of the Champions League, a massive achievement for club and coach.

It has already reported that Inzaghi has been looking likelier and likelier to stay given the team’s excellent form in the run-in. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed as much.

Moreover, President Steven Zhang told Sky Sport Italia that he expects the coach to be at Inter for “many seasons” to come. The President was full of praise for the coach’s calmness and the job that he’s done.
