Inter Milan are ready to extend the contract of coach Simone Inzaghi until the end of June 2025.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the club will speak with the coach’s agent about the matter in talks next month not long before the Champions League final.

Inzaghi’s current contract runs out at the end of next June.

However, it appears very likely that the Nerazzurri will look to extend the 47-year-old’s deal.

The reason for this is that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has a strong policy of not starting a season with a coach whose contract is one year away from expiring.

Both Marotta and President Steven Zhang have publicly backed Inzaghi to remain next season. As such, the CEO will want to sort out an agreement on a new deal for the coach.

Inter Milan To Hold Contract Talks With Agent Of Inzaghi

For his part, Inzaghi is relaxed about the situation. The coach feels the support of the club, and expects the matter to be addressed in due time.

According to FCIN, Inter will meet with the agent of Alessandro Bastoni next month. However, the 24-year-old’s agent Tullio Tinti is also that of Inzaghi.

The Italian outlet report that the Nerazzurri will also discuss the coach’s future with Tinti.

Inzaghi’s current deal runs out at the end of next June. When the coach joined from Lazio in the summer of 2021, he signed a two-year contract. Then, last season, the club extended Inzaghi’s deal by a further season.

According to FCIN, the club’s aim will be to give the coach another one-season extension, taking him to the end of June 2025.

The outlet report that Inzaghi’s wages would increase from €5.5 million net per season to €6 million net per season.

No Question That Inzaghi Stays As Inter Milan Coach

It is now clear that Inzaghi will remain as Inter coach for the start of next season.

A few weeks ago, however, there had been suggestions that the former Lazio coach was on the verge of being sacked.

The likes of Bologna’s Thiago Motta and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi had been rumoured as potential replacements.

Were Inzaghi to be on his way, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in his signature. Now, however, it is absolutely abundantly clear that Inzaghi will stay.
