Inter Milan want to get ahead of Juventus in the race to sign young Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi this summer.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, who report that Roma are also keen to get a deal done for the 23-year-old.
Juventus are very keen on signing Frattesi as part of their midfield rebuild.
The Bianconeri have been plotting a move to sign the 23-year-old midfielder for some time now.
However, Inter are also very keen on Frattesi. The Nerazzurri are preparing to make midfielder reinforcements in the summer, and see Frattesi as an ideal candidate to strengthen their team.
Inter and Juventus aren’t the only Serie A team to target Frattesi, however. Roma have also been chasing the Sassuolo star for some time now.
SportItalia report that the Giallorossi made an attempt to sign Frattesi in January.
Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion are looking to bring the 23-year-old to the Premier League. Roberto De Zerbi could play a decisive influence in his club’s chase of Frattesi.
The Sassuolo midfielder is also a target for Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Inter Milan Keen To Overtake Juventus In Davide Frattesi Race
Over the past few weeks, Juventus have been the team most actively pursuing Frattesi. They have reportedly been in talks with Sassuolo for some time to try and lay the groundwork for a move.
However, SportItalia report, Inter are keen to move in.
Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has a longstanding positive relationship with his Sassuolo counterpart Giovanni Carnevali. Accordingly, Marotta and Inter are hoping they can exploit this positive rapport.
The Nerazzurri are gearing up to try and sign Frattesi ahead of Juventus.
This season, Frattesi has made 41 appearances across all competitions for Sassuolo. He has scored eight goals in the process.
Last time around, Frattesi’s first in Serie A, the midfielder made 41 appearances and scored five goals across all competitions for the Neroverdi.
