Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has confirmed that both Inter Milan and Napoli are keen to sign goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Lady Radio, via FCInterNews, the Tuscan club’s President didn’t hide the fact that 26-year-old goalkeeper Vicario is a target for some of Serie A’s biggest teams, in the form of the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei.

Vicario has enjoyed a breakout couple of seasons playing for Empoli.

Since the Tuscans achieved promotion to Serie A in 2021 and brought the Italian in, he has been key in their staying in the top flight.

This form has not gone unnoticed. Big clubs are starting to take a serious interest.

Moreover, Empoli coach Paolo Zanetti has all but expected that he expects Vicario to leave this summer

Inter are reportedly looking at Vicario as one of their main targets to replace Andre Onana. The Cameroonian is a target for Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, the Nerazzurri are not the only team in Serie A who are keen to sign Vicario.

Juventus and Roma have also been linked. Some recent reports have also suggested Fiorentina want to sign Vicario.

Even teams outside Serie A are sitting up and taking notice. Man United and Bayern Munich reportedly both admire the 26-year-old.

For his part, Empoli President Corsi confirms that Vicario is a target for Inter, and also for Napoli.

Corsi: Inter & Napoli Are Interested In Empoli Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario

Asked about the player’s situation, Empoli President Corsi explained that “We bought him back to resell him. We also paid a lot to sign him considering our finances.”

“We expect that Fiorentina would be one of the clubs to be interested, like Napoli and Inter.”

“It’s a source of pride for us that the top teams have him in their sights,” Corsi said of Vicario. “He’s also a special person, not just as a footballer.”
