Inter Milan are still trying to complete a deal to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah during the summer transfer window.

This according to UK tabloid the Daily Mail, who report that the Nerazzurri are still targeting the 23-year-old, who could leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular football.

The transfer links between Chalobah and Inter have been strong for some time.

The Englishman has been on the Nerazzurri’s radar since last summer.

Both towards the end of last summer window, and in January during the season just gone, Inter reportedly lined Chalobah up as a possible replacement in the event that Milan Skriniar were to be sold to Paris Saint-Germain.

In the end, Skriniar stayed put. Therefore, neither last summer not in January did the Nerazzurri go in search of a replacement.

However, Skriniar is set to leave and join PSG on a free transfer next season. Accordingly replacing the former Sampdoria star is a major priority for the summer.

Moreover, the future Danilo D’Ambrosio is also up in the air.

Inter Milan Want To Sign Chelsea Star Trevoh Chalobah

Inter will clearly have to make a big defensive reinforcement or two during the summer.

Chelsea and former Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly had been a big name on the Nerazzurri’s radar. However, he looks set to make the move to the Saudi Pro League.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are however reportedly close to a deal for Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, However, the Daily Mail report, Inter’s raid for Chelsea defenders may not stop there.

The Daily Mail confirm that Chalobah is still a target. The Nerazzurri are still trying to sign the 23-year-old England international.\

Currently, Chalobah does not have a regular place in Chelsea’s starting eleven. Even if Koulibaly and Azpliciueta leave as is expected, there are still a number of defenders potentially ahead of the Englishman in the Blues’ squad.
