Inter Milan are in talks with Atalanta to potentially bring in Juan Musso as a replacement for Andre Onana this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Quotdiano Sportivo, who report that the Nerazzurri would want the 29-year-old on loan.

An Andre Onana departure from Inter is looking increasingly likely for this summer.

Manchester United are pushing to sign the 27-year-old. The Red Devils would be prepared to make a massive money to sign Onana just one season after he joined Inter on a free transfer.

With Inter now aware of the very real possibility that Onana will leave, securing a replacement is a priority.

A major hitch in the Nerazzurri’s succession plan for the Cameroonian has already emerged. Empoli star Guglielmo Vicario had been Inter’s top target to take Onana’s place.

However, the 26-year-old now on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri must line up other targets for the event of a possible sale of Onana.

Inter In Talks With Atalanta For Juan Musso

Two of the players the Nerazzurri are targeting are Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer.

However, those are not the only names on Inter’s shortlist. According to QS, they have also contacted Atalanta about 29-year-old Argentine international Musso.

The Argentine has been on Inter’s radar since his days at Udinese. The Nerazzurri had considered Musso as a possible long-term replacement for Samir Handanovic.

However, it was Atalanta who won the race for Musso’s signature initially. They signed him from Udinese in the summer of 2021.

However, Musso has never quite found form at La Dea. So much has this been the case that the 29-year-old is not even clear-cut first-choice for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

The return of the highly-rated Marco Carnesecchi from loan at Cremonese puts Musso’s future at Atalanta in further doubt.

As such, Inter are considering the possibility of moving for Musso if Onana leaves.

However, the Nerazzurri are only interested in signing the Argentine on loan. They could look to bring him in on an initial loan deal containing a purchase option.
