Today is the day – Marcus Thuram is in Milan where he’ll complete his move to Inter Milan on a free transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who reveal the 25-year-old’s schedule.

Thuram arrived at the Linate Airport in Milan this morning at around 9.30 CET.

This represents the Frenchman’s first step in his new adventure at Inter. He is now right on the verge of joining the Nerazzurri on a five-year deal.

Thuram will leave Borussia Monchengladbach after four years with the club, signing for Inter on a free transfer.

The Frenchman will earn around €6 million net per season as a Nerazzurri player.

The move is not quite over the line. This afternoon, Thuram will visit Inter’s medical centre where the striker will undergo his medical tests with the club’s doctors.

Then, everything will be ready for the final stage of the process – Thuram will sign his contract.

Inter have everything ready to go in this respect, having worked out all the details over the past few days. They are ready to wrap up the signing today.

Marcus Thuram Becomes An Inter Milan Player Today

Inter’s pursuit of Gladbach striker Thuram has been a long and winding one.

The Nerazzurri had reportedly been very close to signing the Frenchman already in 2021. However, a knee injury to the player prompted them to move on to other targets, signing Joaquin Correa from Lazio instead.

However, Thuram’s availability on a free transfer this summer reignited their interest.

The Nerazzurri have been in talks with the Thuram‘s representatives since the World Cup about a potential summer move.

Meanwhile, all of Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United have made their attempts, among others.

Thuram’s situation has come to a head as the expiration of his contract with Gladbach has come up.

AC Milan have strongly pushed to make Thuram a big attacking signing over the past couple weeks. Meanwhile, Inter rejoined the race emphatically just a week ago.

In the end, the player chose Inter.

The Nerazzurri have beaten their city rivals the Rossoneri to the signing of Thuram, who played in the World Cup final in Qatar.

It’s been two years of chasing the Frenchman, but Inter have gotten their man. He will become their first big arrival of the summer, and it may be only a matter of hours.
