Inter Milan, Atalanta, and Roma are all interested in potentially signing Bayer Leverkusen wingback Mitchel Bakker this summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri see the 23-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain man as an alternative to Monza’s Carlos Augusto to replace Robin Gosens.

Dutch star Bakker has already been mooted as a possible replacement for former Atalanta wingback Robin Gosens at Inter.

During both last summer transfer window and the January window of the season just gone, Leverkusen were interested in signing Gosens. As part of this interest, they reportedly offered Bakker to Inter.

The Dutchman could have arrived as a part of a possible player-plus-cash swap for Gosens.

However, Gosens stayed put during both transfer window.

This has not meant that the transfer rumours regarding the German’s future have gone away, however.

Rather, the 28-year-old is reportedly a target for Union Berlin, Wolfsburg, Bournemouth, and Nottingham Forest this summer. Accordingly, Inter are looking high and low for potential replacements for Gosens.

Inter, Atalanta & Roma All Interested In Leverkusen Star Bakker

Monza wingback Carlos Augusto has emerged as Inter’s top target to replace Gosens if the German leaves.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed something of a breakout campaign with the Brianzoli in Serie A. Accordingly, the Nerazzurri see him as the perfect option to replace Gosens like-for-like.

However, Inter could very well miss out on Augusto. Particularly with Monza aiming to cash in with as high of a fee as possible for their star man.

Accordingly, Inter are lining up alternative options.

According to SportItalia, Leverkusen’s Bakker is one of the names on their radar.

The Nerazzurri are not alone among Serie A clubs in tracking the Dutchman, however.

The broadcaster reports that Atalanta and Roma are also considering Bakker a target. In the case of the Giallorossi, the Leverkusen wingback would be signed as a replacement if Leonardo Spinazzola leaves the club.
