Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has revealed that Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has been offered to Inter Milan for this summer.

Speaking to the Twitch channel of Italian news outlet SOS Fanta, via FCInter1908, Moretto explained that the Nerazzurri are not currently too keen on signing the 29-year-old however, whilst he also updated on the situation of Inter target Davide Fattesi.

Inter are still in the hunt for a defender.

The fact that the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta makes this all the more pressing.

The Nerazzurri are left looking for replacements for Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio. Both of the pair’s departures have long been expected, and are now fully confirmed.

Samuel Umtiti Offered To Inter Milan

Meanwhile, Umtiti is looking for a new club. The Frenchman has terminated his deal with Barcelona on a free transfer, and can join any club on a free transfer.

Umtiti had a season on loan with Lecce in Serie A last season. There, the 2018 World Cup winner found some form and regular playing time after the past few years that have been a nightmare for injuries for him.

Of the Frenchman’s future, Moretto said that “He certainly won’t return to Lecce.”

“I know he was offered to Inter,” the journalist continued.

“There were some talks where his name came up but Inter didn’t really warm up because they had other priorities.

“Now we’ll see if the discussions could reopen today.”

Davide Frattesi Prefers Inter Move Over Roma, Juventus & AC Milan

Moretto also updated on the situation of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.

“I know that Davide was very burned by what happened a year ago with Roma and they’re not the first team he’d choose in his mind,” the journalist said.

“He has Inter in his mind, and he’d be very happy if he could join them,” Moretto continued. “Now we have to wait and see whether they can be quick to close on a deal.”

“Today I see Inter as leading the way to sign him,” he said of Frattesi. “With Juventus as the outside candidate. Because Giuntoli is a huge fan of Frattesi.”

Moretto said that “Roma and Milan currently have other priorities.”
