Nerazzurri Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello has confirmed that signing Romelu Lukaku back from Chelsea is a “priority” for Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, the Inter executive stressed that the club are working on securing a return for the Belgian behind the scenes, and also had a brief word about the main shirt sponsor situation ahead of next season.

As things stand, Lukaku is a Chelsea player.

There is no agreement between Inter and the Blues for the 30-year-old to come back for the upcoming season.

However, Inter are working to try and get it done. For his part, Lukaku has made clear that he only wants Inter for next season.

Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi has told the club that bringing Lukaku back is a must.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri will hold talks with Chelsea sometime this week. After having their bids for another loan deal, they are ready to offer the Blues another loan move, but this time one containing a purchase option.

Antonello: Signing Lukaku Back From Chelsea “A Priority” For Inter

A lot could depend on how hard Inter push to make the move happen.

If the Nerazzurri are distracted by other matters or decide not to commit too much it could be hard.

On the other hand, the sense is that a deal is within reach if the Nerazzurri throw everything at it.

And, in this respect, Antonello has made the club’s stance clear. They do not consider bringing Lukaku back to be anything other than a “priority.”

Asked if the Belgian is a priority for Inter, he replied “Yes, Beppe Marotta is working on it.”

And, on the question of the Nerazzurri’s main shirt sponsor situation, Antonello also spoke briefly.

He made it clear that “As far as the sponsor situation, we’re working on it.”
