Inter Milan want to offload forward Joaquin Correa this summer, but have not received any serious offers thus far.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri have placed the 28-year-old ex-Lazio star firmly on their list of players who can depart during the transfer window, but that there are no takers to date.
Joaquin Correa has can only really be called a big money flop based on his two seasons at Inter.
Whilst the Argentine arrived from Lazio with big expectations attached during the summer of 2021, he has failed to make the expected impact in his two seasons at Inter.
The Nerazzurri paid a fee of around €30 million to bring the Argentine in. However, Correa has scored just ten goals from 77 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Injuries have played a major role in limiting Correa’s contribution and form.
Even though the former Sevilla and Sampdoria man has played a good number of matches for Inter, his playing time has been discountinuous.
Those matches where Correa has been fit to play have often come after long injuries that have disrupted his momentum.
Inter Milan Want To Offload Joaquin Correa But Yet To Receive Offers
The Gazzetta report that Inter are indeed very much keen to find a new club for Correa.
The Nerazzurri have put their faith in the player to date. Former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi in particular.
However, there is now a sense that everyone is ready to move on. There is little optimism that Correa’s third season at the club will see him regain his form from his Biancocelesti days.
So far Fenerbahce have shown an interest in signing Correa. However, the player has rejected the possibility.
Meanwhile, Premier League duo West Ham United and Everton reportedly consider the Argentine to be a target.
And reports suggest that the player himself would prefer a move to a different team within Serie A.
A return to La Liga, where Correa had previously played for Sevilla, could be workable, suggests the Gazzetta. Correa has experience in the league and is a Spanish-speaker which could make an adjustment to the league fairly straightforward.
However, at the moment there are simply no real offers for the Argentine’s signature.
Therefore, Inter may have to wait until late in the window to find a solution for Correa’s future. If they do at all.
