Atletico Madrid are not budging on their asking price of €21 million to sell Alvaro Morata.

This according to Spanish news outlet Marca, via FCInterNews, who report that the 30-year-old could very well stay in the Colchoneros’ squad for next season despite transfer links to clubs like Inter Milan, Roma, and Juventus.

Morata has been attracting plenty of transfer interest in Serie A this summer.

Inter have made Morata one of their main targets in the striker position after pulling the plug on their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.

Reportedly, the former Chelsea, Juventus, and Real Madrid man is the target who Simone Inzaghi prefers.

Meanwhile, Roma have not given up on signing the Spaniard. Reportedly, Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho still sees Morata as the top option to strengthen in attack for next season.

And then there’s always Juventus. The Bianconeri have already brought Morata to Serie A for two separate spells. And, depending on other movement in attack, they could show an interest in bringing him back for a third.

Atletico Madrid Not Wavering On Asking Price For Alvaro Morata

But Atletico have been demanding around €20 million to sell Morata this summer.

And despite various reports emerging that the La Liga giants could decide to lower the asking price in order to facilitate a deal, Marca report that that would be unlikely.

Firstly, this s because the Colchoneros must bring in a fee of around that size to avoid taking a capital loss on the striker’s sale.

Furthermore, Marca reports, Atletico would have no problem keeping Morata on for next season. They are also looking at other striker targets in case he is on his way.

But, the Spanish outlet anticipates, there would be little friction if the Spanish international were to remain at Atletico.

Therefore, the Colchoneros are not going to drop the price much to make sure a deal happens.

In any event, Atletico are less than a day away from their preseason tour beginning. The Spanish side head to South Korea, and then Mexico and the United States.

Morata’s agent is still working to see if a transfer would be possible.

But it now looks very likely that the striker will accompany Atletico on their preseason tour. And his club aren’t going to be pushing to make a sale happen if the right offer doesn’t come along.
