Signing Lazar Samardzic will cost Inter Milan a total of around €20 million, including the value of midfielder Giovanni Fabbian.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are one step away from completing a deal for the 21-year-old Serbian international, and that that will be the total value of the deal.

Inter have been moving fast in talks to sign Samardzic.

The Nerazzurri have been targeting the German-born Serbian international throughout the summer.

First, he was a player who they had seemingly lined up as an alternative target to Davide Frattesi. However, even after wrapping up a deal to sign Frattesi from Sassuolo, the Nerazzuri have continued to work to sign Samardzic.

And now, Inter already appear to be right on the verge of getting a deal done.

The Gazzetta report that after recent rounds of talks between Inter and Udinese, the transfer is essentially only a matter of time.

Inter have won the race ahead of Lazio, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli to sign the former RB Leipzig midfielder.

Lazar Samardzic Deal To Cost Inter Milan €20M – Including Fabbian

The Gazzetta report that the total value of the deal for Samardzic will be right around €20 million.

The Nerazzurri have come to a complete agreement with Udinese, so there’s little doubt remaining.

The inclusion of young midfielder Giovanni Fabbian going the other way has been a key aspect in Inter convincing the Friulani to get the deal done.

It is not yet clear the precise formula by which Fabbian will be part of the deal.

But what is clear is that the 20-year-old will make the switch to the Dacia Arena whilst Samardzic comes the other way. It looks as though he will move on a permanent transfer, but there will be a buyback option so Inter don’t lose control of the young midfielder’s future.

And as far as how Fabbian figures into the €20 million valuation for Samardzic, the Gazzetta report that it’s all-in.

That valuation will encompass both the transfer fee that Inter pay, and the value of Samardzic’s contract.
