It’s all but done now – Lazar Samardzic will join Inter Milan from Udinese for a fee of €15 million plus Giovanni Fabbian going the other way.

This according to Italian broadcaster DAZN, who confirmed that the clubs have reached the agreement in a tweet.

Inter have gotten things over the line in their pursuit of Samardzic.

The Nerazzurri have been targeting the German-born Serbian international throughout the summer.

First, he was a player who they had seemingly lined up as an alternative target to Davide Frattesi. However, even after wrapping up a deal to sign Frattesi from Sassuolo, the Nerazzuri have continued to work to sign Samardzic.

And now, Inter already appear to be right on the verge of getting a deal done.

Inter have won the race ahead of Lazio, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli to sign the former RB Leipzig midfielder.

Only A Matter Of Time Before Lazar Samardzic Joins Inter Milan

Today, Inter and Udinese reportedly held the final round of talks on a move for Samardzic.

Whilst the deal has looked close at hand for a couple days now, the clubs have still had a couple final details to work out.

These have concerned both the size of the fee and also the terms of young Inter midfielder Fabbian’s inclusion in the deal.

The offer of Fabbian going the other way was crucial for Inter to convince Udinese.

And according to DAZN, the deal will happen on the basis of a €15 million fee, plus Fabbian.

The broadcaster does not specify, however, whether there will be a buyback option in favour of Inter.

Reports have suggested that the Nerazzurri have insisted on the inclusion of such a clause. This was reportedly among the main topics of the final talks between the clubs.

But according to DAZN, even this no longer needs any more discussion.

It’s a done deal – Samardzic is not long from becoming an Inter player for next season.
