Inter Milan have agreed a deal to sign Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero on loan with an option to buy

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will sign the 26-year-old on a season-long loan deal, and will have the option to sign him on a permanent basis for a fee of €7 million next summer.

Audero has swiftly risen to the top of Inter’s list of potential backup goalkeepers for next season.

Yann Sommer has already arrived from Bayern Munich, and should be the first-choice option.

However, reports widely suggest that the Nerazzurri will not stop with Sommer. They also need to sign a keeper to back up the starter, with Samir Handanovic having also left.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin and Athletico Paranaense’s Bento have both been linked.

However, in the case of the former the Nerazurri look set to miss out as the 21-year-old is close to joining Benfica.

And in the case of the latter, the Brazilian is likely more of an option for next season. Paranaense’s Sporting Director has confirmed that Bento is “not for sale” this summer.

Inter Milan & Sampdoria Agree Loan + Purchase Option Deal For Emil Audero

All of that leaves Audero.

The Italian’s agent has already confirmed that the negotiations are ongoing with Inter.

Audero’s agent Tullio Tinti was at the Nerazzurri’s headquarters earlier today. And he did not make any effort to deny that discussions regarding the Blucerchiati keeper were on the agenda.

Given Sampdoria’s relegation last season, a move always looked likely to be on the cards for Audero.

And despite the likes of Lazio and Fiorentina also having interest in the goalkeeper, it looks to be Inter who’ve won the chase for his signature.

FCIN report that the Nerazzurri have agreed a one-season loan deal to sign Audero.

That will contain a purchase option worth €7 million.

As for the player’s end, the outlet report that Audero will sign a four-year contract with the Nerazzurri. He will earn around €1.2 million net per season, FCIN reports.
