Inter Milan could sign goalkeeper Emil Audero from Sampdoria in a loan swap with young keeper Filip Stankovic.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are still trying to sort out their goalkeeping situation for the upcoming season.

Whilst Yann Sommer is on the verge of signing from Bayern Munich, the Swiss won’t likely be the only keeper who Inter sign.

There is still a need for a backup keeper due to captain Samir Handanovic also departing.

Whilst Inter have looked into several possibilities, from Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin to Athletico Paranaense’s Bento, these targets haven’t panned out.

Therefore, Sampdoria’s Audero looks to be the most realistic and attainable target.

The fact that the Blucerchiati are in Serie B next season will certainly aid Inter in their pursuit. But the Nerazzurri must still find the right offer to convince the Ligurians.

Inter Milan Could Offer Sampdoria Audero-Stankovic Loan Swap

According to Tuttosport, Inter are thinking about proposing a loan swap deal with Sampdoria.

The Nerazzurri are also looking to sort out where 21-year-old goalkeeper Filip Strankovic will be playing next season.

There have been one or two suggestions that the Serb could even stay in Inter’s first team. He has had an impressive preseason and could well be an option to be backup to Sommer in goal.

However, the issue there would be playing time – whilst Stankovic has shown his quality already, he lacks experience and would not likely receive a great deal of playing time in the immediate future.

Considering the Serb’s age and the stage he’s at in his career, that would hardly be ideal.

Therefore, the likeliest option is still another loan so that the 21-year-old can continue his development.

And Sampdoria could be an ideal environment in which to do so.

The Blucerchiati are aiming to bounce right back to Serie A next season. If they are willing to put their faith in Stankovic as their Number One, it would give him his first taste of regular senior football in Italy.

Therefore, Tuttosport report, Inter are considering making the loan swap offer to Sampdoria.

This could both solve Inter’s problem of needing a backup keeper in the short term, and also sort out Stankovic’s next destination.
