Young goalkeeper Filip Stankovic could be the first-choice for Inter Milan in preseason.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 21-year-old Serbian international could be the Nerazzurri’s main goalkeeper whilst they wait for replacements for Andre Onana to arrive.

At the moment, the goalkeeping situation is in a major state of flux at Inter.

Andre Onana looks to be headed to Manchester United. Nothing is done yet, but there is a high probability that the Cameroonian will be absent from the Nerazzurri’s preseason squad if they reach an agreement with the Red Devils.

Inter are keen to sign both Anatoliy Trubin and Yann Sommer to replace him. Even if they move quickly, however, signing both will take time.

The departure of Alex Cordaz and the possibility that Samir Handanovic could soon follow mean that Inter may well head into preseason without any of their senior goalkeepers from last season.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will have to find a solution in the very short term.

Filip Stankovic Could Be Inter Milan Goalkeeper In Preseason

Whilst Inter will certainly bring in new goalkeeping signings for next season, for preseason they may have to make do with some improvised solutions.

The obvious move would be to give a chance to some players who return to the squad from loan.

Brazilian Gabriel Brazao returns from SPAL, whilst Romanian Andrei Radu is back from a loan spell with Auxerre.

Inter will seek new clubs for them for next season, without a doubt. This could mean new loan moves, or even permanent transfers away.

However, Tuttosport reports, the likeliest solution may prove to be Filip Stankovic.

The Serb has spent the past two seasons on loan in the Netherlands with Volendam.

Last season, Stankovic was named as the Eredivisie team’s player of the season.

Inter could give the 21-year-old a chance to prove what he’s capable of in preseason. Then they can wait for the arrivals of more permanent options like Trubin an Sommer.
