Saudi Pro League clubs are still showing a tentative interest in Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Gulf state’s top flight is still the one real source of interest in the 28-year-old, with Folarin Balogun and Alexis Sanchez lined up as possible replacements.

Joaquin Correa is certainly not a player who Inter will go to any great lengths to hold onto.

The Gazzetta compare the Argentine’s situation at the Nerazzurri to that of Divock Origi at AC Milan. He is a player who his club are not hiding the fact that they are looking to offload.

Whilst Correa arrived from Lazio with big expectations attached during the summer of 2021, he has failed to make the expected impact in his two seasons at Inter.

Injuries have played a major role in limiting Correa’s contribution and form.

Accordingly, a departure looks to be on the cards for the 28-year-old. However, what is less certain is where his next club will be.

As of yet, there have not been any clear developments towards an imminent Nerazzurri exit for Correa.

Saudi Clubs Still Showing Tentative Interest In Joaquin Correa

If Inter want to sell Correa to another team in Europe, they may be out of luck based on how the transfer window has gone so far.

Fenerbahce have already shown an interest in signing Correa. However, the player has rejected the possibility.

Meanwhile, Premier League duo West Ham United and Everton reportedly consider the Argentine to be a target.

And reports suggest that the player himself would prefer a move to a different team within Serie A.

On the other hand, the free-spending Saudi Pro League could present a viable options.

Teams from that league have not been shy about splashing the cash to land big name players from European leagues. They also have not shown any great reluctance to sign players who are out of form.

Therefore, Correa could represent a logical target for Saudi clubs.

According to the Gazzetta, the interest in the Argentine’s signature is there. However, the newspaper report, it is still not all that strong, with less than three weeks left to go in the summer window.

If Correa is to leave, Inter have a couple ideas to replace him. One would be the “dream” signing of Balogun from Arsenal.

On the other hand, there is also Alexis Sanchez, who could be brought in on a free transfer twelve months after he left the Nerazzurri.
