New Inter Milan signing Marcus Thuram “can’t wait” to get out on the pitch at San Siro wearing the colours of his new club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Frenchman projected excitement whilst at the Nerazzurri’s headquarters to sign his contract yesterday.

By all accounts, France international Thuram is now an Inter player.

The official announcement hasn’t yet arrived. However, that should come at the end of this month when the 25-year-old’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach officially expires.

However, Thuram has already signed his contract with Inter. He did so yesterday after completing his medicals.

The Nerazzurri have beaten the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United to Thuram’s signature.

Perhaps most pertinently, they have pipped their city rivals AC Milan to the post.

Marcus Thuram Excited To Play At San Siro

After signing his contract, Thuram milled around at Inter’s headquarters for a bit.

There, the Gazzetta report, the Frenchman spoke about how he was feeling after making his big move. According to the newspaper, the main theme was that he is excited to represent Inter at the San Siro.

Thuram has played at the San Siro already, although that was against the Nerazzurri.

The Frenchman started in a 2-2 Champions League group stage draw against Inter in 2020.

However, wearing the Inter shirt at the stadium will definitely mean something different for Thuram.

Now, having decisively made his choice to take his next step with the Nerazzurri, the Frenchman is looking forward to what comes next.

Thuram Wants To Play Striker Under Simone Inzaghi

The Gazzetta also note that Thuram talked about how he wants to play next season.

A key part of the reason that the Frenchman has chosen Inter is that he wants to continue his career as a centre-forward. Inter’s customary 3-5-2 formation will afford him the perfect opportunity in that sense.

Thuram has already spoken with Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

He is relishing the thought of lining up in a striker partnership to lead the line for the former Lazio coach’s system.

Thuram enjoyed his best goalscoring campaign last season – thirteen goals in the Bundesliga.

He is now hoping to become even more of an out-and-out goal threat and improve upon that.
