Roma could look to sign Sassuolo and Italy midfielder Davide Frattesi if Inter Milan & AC Milan fail to do so.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air via FCInterNews, that if the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri cannot wrap up a deal for the 23-year-old in a timely manner then the Giallorossi would be ready to move in.

Inter are pushing to sign Neroverdi and Italy star Davide Frattesi for next season.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are ready to join the race after selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United for huge money.

However, neither of the two derby rivals have been able to get into a commanding position in the race for Frattesi’s signature as of yet.

In the case of Inter, a key part of their plan to sign Frattesi has always looked to be selling Marcelo Brozovic first.

Given that the Croat is the subject of a tug-of-war between Al-Nassr and Barcelona that may still be some time.

Meanwhile, if Milan want to sign Frattesi, they haven’t yet gotten too serious about it. Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has denied that the Rossoneri have made contact about the player yet.

Roma Could Be Back In For Frattesi If Inter & AC Milan Keep Dallying

If both Inter and Milan don’t hurry up, Roma could seize their opportunity, according to Di Marzio.

Roma have already met with Sassuolo to make their interest in signing Frattesi clear.

In the last couple of weeks, the Giallorossi have seemingly fallen behind a bit in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature. The likes of Inter, Milan, and Juventus have looked likelier to complete a deal.

However, Roma’s interest in Frattesi has never really gone away.

The club from the capital are waiting to see if Inter or Milan will quickly close on a deal to sign the Italy star.

If neither do, then Roma will be right back in the race for Frattesi’s signature. They could be ready to move next week.
