Udinese could still sign midfielder Giovanni Fabbian from Inter Milan despite the complete stall in talks for Lazar Samardzic.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri have now completely uncoupled the talks with the Friulani for Fabbian with those for Samardzic.

For the past couple of weeks, it has looked as though Inter would send Fabbian to Udinese as part of a deal for Samardzic.

The Nerazzurri reportedly convinced the Friulani to make a deal for the latter partly by offering the former.

Reports have suggested that Samardzic has been set to join Inter on loan with a purchase obligation. Meanwhile, Fabbian would head to Udinese on a permanent deal, with the Nerazzurri retaining a buyback option.

However, the move of Samardzic to Inter is now on the verge of falling through.

This is not, however, the result of talks breaking down between the Nerazzurri and Udinese. The two clubs have had an agreement in hand for some time.

Rather, the talks are at a standstill with Samardzic’s entourage. The player’s father has asked for new financial terms, which the Nerazzurri refuse to accept.

Fabbian Move To Udinese No Longer Linked To Samardzic To Inter

The move of Fabbian to Udinese has always been, technically speaking, separate from Samardzic’s move to Inter.

However, the two clubs worked out the transfers in tandem. It has been, for all intents and purposes, a player-plus-cash deal.

But now, it looks as though Samardzic will not be joining Inter.

Unless the player and his entourage accept the previously agreed terms, then the Nerazzurri will not sign him.

This throws the status of Fabbian’s move to Udinese in doubt.

However, according to Di Marzio, the too moves are no longer linked. Even if Samardzic stays at Udinese, the Friulani could still sign Fabbian.

The 20-year-old had an outstanding season on loan at Reggina in Serie B last campaign.

The Inter midfielder was named as the Calabrian team’s best player of the season.

Despite having just one season of senior football under his belt, Fabbian has already attracted plenty of interest.

All of Napoli, Lazio, and Atalanta are reportedly fans of the 20-year-old.

Even just for next season, all of Lecce, Bologna, Salernitana, Genoa, and Empoli have all shown interest.
