Inter Milan will move to sign Alexis Sanchez on a free transfer if Joaquin Correa leaves the club this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri will go for a low-cost deal to replace the Argentine all likelihood if he is to be on his way before the transfer window ends.

As the Gazzetta notes, it is looking less and less likely that Correa will leave Inter this summer.

Despite the 29-year-old former Lazio and Sevilla forward having virtually been in the shop window for all of the summer, there have been no concrete offers.

Fenerbahce have shown an interest in signing Correa. However, the player has rejected the possibility.

Meanwhile, Premier League duo West Ham United and Everton reportedly consider the Argentine to be a target.

And reports suggest that the player himself would prefer a move to a different team within Serie A.

And then there is the possibility of the free-spending Saudi Pro League. Al-Shabab are reportedly mulling over an offer.

But in spite of this interest, no team has actually presented a real solution for Correa’s future.

Inter Milan Will Move For Alexis Sanchez Or Other Low-Cost Option If Correa Leaves

According to the Gazzetta, in any event, if Correa does leave in the next couple weeks, Inter will have a plan.

The Nerazzurri will look for a relatively low-cost deal for a player with a similar profile to the Argentine.

Sanchez would be a natural candidate in this respect. The Chilean veteran is available on a free transfer after his contract with Marseille ran out this summer.

Moreover, Sanchez knows Inter well already. He spent three seasons at the Nerazzurri between 2019 and 2022, departing last summer.

And if it is not Sanchez who replaces Correa, it would be a different low-cost player.

Despite some rumours that Inter could sign Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun as a replacement for Correa, the Gazzetta notes that they have already walked away from talks for the US international due to the price tag.
