Inter Milan will have to make a major sale this summer to fund the signings they want to make, with Andre Onana the favourite to go.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are holding out for €60 million for the Cameroonian and that they could make another major sale if they do not sell him.

With the transfer window formally open as of a couple weeks ago, Inter’s summer has liftoff.

The Nerazzurri have completed the high-profile signing of Marcus Thuram on a free transfer.

Going in the other direction, Marcelo Brozovic is right at the exit door after Inter agreed a deal with Al-Nassr.

This is far from the only business Inter aim to do before the start of next season, however.

Milan Skriniar has left on a free transfer, as have Danilo D’Amrbosio and Roberto Gagliardini. Samir Handanovic could do so as well.

Therefore, there will be no shortage of vacancies to fill in the squad.

Inter Milan Must Sell Onana Or Another High-Value Signing To Afford Signings

Apart from the high-ticket pieces of business like a midfielder to replace Brozovic and bringing back Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, there are still a lot of other reinforcements that Inter need to make.

A new backup keeper, or even two, will be on the agenda. As will a sixth midfielder in the squad to take the place of Gaglirdini.

Meanwhile, if Matteo Darmian will primarily be a defender next season, Inter need a new wingback to back up Denzel Dumfries. Wilfried Singo is the current favourite after Raoul Bellanova has left.

Inter cannot hope to do all of this business focusing strictly on free transfer opportunities or low-cost loan deals. Money will have to come from somewhere if the Nerazzurri are to strengthen with the signings they want.

And according to the Corriere, Inter know who they want to sell to fund all their incoming business.

The Nerazzurri are expecting an imminent offer from Manchester United for Andre Onana.

According to the Corriere, Inter will stick to a high price tag. They want €60 million for their goalkeeper, because they need all the cash they can get not just to replace the Cameroonian like-for-like but also to spend on other areas of the squad.

As such, the Corriere report, Inter will walk away from negotiations if they sense United aren’t interested in paying up.

Then, it would seem, the Nerazzurri will have to consider the idea of making a different big sale.
